Nornickel’s Polar Division received 84 vehicles intended for various applications in 2016, totaling more than 630 million rubles. The new vehicles include, among others, bulldozers, forklifts, tank trucks, dump cars, an excavator, and a railroad crane.
In 2017, 13 new vehicles were delivered to Norilsk via the Polar Transport Division. These are crawler bulldozers, tank trucks for process solutions, dump trucks, and a bus for shift teams.
The Company is in the process of planning the purchase of new self-propelled equipment in 2017, totaling several hundreds of millions of rubles.
The key feature of the equipment purchase program in 2017 is the agreement with the Kostroma-based boat building plant for the construction of five river boats. The vessels will replace the outdated Zarya and Luch boats that are traditionally used to carry Polar Division employees to Lake Lama, a resort popular with residents of Norilsk. The boats worth about 200 million rubles are expected to be delivered this year.
